Hydraulic Fracturing around Injectors

The presenter for this seminar is Andreas Bauer, Sintef

For low permeable reservoirs, hydraulic fracturing around injectors may be needed to achieve required injection rate. If fractures grow uncontrolled, they may lead to early water breakthrough. Fracturing around water inectors is often difficult to model. In this presentation Andreas Bauer will present the mechanisms of how hydraulic fractures are generated and a new simulation model (MDEM) that Sintef is developing.

The presentation starts ca 11:30 (and will last ca 45min + ca 15min for questions). Before the meeting lunch is served at 11:00.
